What does Pengwern mean?
John lives with his family in Shrewsbury, a town in the beautiful county of Shropshire.
Today it is part of England, but in pre-Roman times much of Shropshire belonged to the ancient Welsh Kingdom of Powys. Cynddylan, Prince of Powys, is thought to have held his court at Pengwern, on land that now forms part of Shrewsbury. The Pengwern name is still associated with the town today.
